Bengaluru: A security guard died on the spot when a newly installed gate near the Tata Institute fell on him and two others, who sustained minor injuries. The incident occurred on Sunday, June 30 evening.
The deceased has been identified as Gautham Biswal (24), a migrant labourer from Odisha. Two other security guards – Anil Kumar from Bihar and Y Nayak from Odisha – are the ones who sustained minor injuries.
According to police sources, Biswal migrated to Bengaluru three years ago and was working with a private security service provider.
The gate that fell down was installed four months ago and weighed 600 kgs. “It fell when Biswal was opening the gate to allow entry for a car,” said the Sadashivanagar police.
