Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a one-month-old toddler was smothered to death in the Viveknagar area of the city. Viveknagar is considered to be one of the city’s biggest slums.
According to the Ashoknagar police who are investigating the case, the deceased toddler is the son of Ashok. On Saturday night, the toddler was suffering from a fever and early on Sunday morning, Ashok left the baby in the living room of his house to get medicine from a local medical shop. When he returned, the toddler was missing. His wife was preparing breakfast at the time of the incident.
Alarmed, Ashok immediately alerted the police.
While investigating, the police found the child dead underneath the table, wrapped in a plastic cover.
Senior officials rushed to the spot and started an investigation.
