Bengaluru: In a big set back for rebel Congress leader Ramesh Jarakoholi, out of 19 supporting MLAs, 15 have communicated to him that they are not ready to resign from their posts. With this, the BJP attempts to topple the H D Kumaraswamy-led JDS-Congress coalition government has suffered a setback.
According to sources, out of 19 supporting MLAs, only 4 have offered to resign in writing. “The rest of the MLAs are not ready to resign at this stage. They are not happy with the Rs 30 crores package offered by the BJP leaders,” informed a Congress leader.
“Ramesh has sought time till January 14 to topple of the government. He communicated the same to his supporting MLAs,” he said.
But contrary to this, BJP sources are buoyed with the predictions that the discussions between Ramesh Jarakoholi and BJP national president Amith Shah has been fruitful.
