Bengaluru: Following the death of Belagavi-based contractor Santosh Patil, leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjuna Kharge urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the affairs of the BJP government in Karnataka.
In response to the contractor’s death, he claimed that the PM did nothing despite the fact that the deceased had written to him stating that the Government is demanding a 40 per cent commission for civic work. Rather than focusing on Karnataka’s kickback politics, Modi thinks that everything his Government does will be correct, he remarked.
He believes that the BJP Government is harming the State by deceiving the public with claims of a dual-engine Government.
Both State and Union Governments didn’t think of curbing corruption and the government should take immediate steps over the suicide, he said.
“When Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai came to Delhi, I urged him to stop the kickback politics since it is damaging the State’s image,” Kharge said.
