Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) issued notices to 60 apartments across the city warning disconnection of the power supply if the residents of the apartments fail to upgrade the Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs).

According to the notice issued by the KSPCB officials, these apartments have old, outdated STPs. “The new guidelines issued by the central Pollution Control Board states that all the apartments must have STPs which are incorporated with the latest technology, including two pipe connections and can treat the solid waste also. These 60 apartments don’t have this modern technology. If the apartment owners fail to comply with the KSPCB order, a power supply will be removed,” the letter read.

Notice also says that all the apartment owners should only recruit those staff who have relevant experience in the waste water management.
