Bengaluru: The city witnessed artificial flooding late on Wednesday night when drainage water entered over 200 houses and damaged over 150 vehicles. Mainly four-wheelers which were parked on the roadside were damaged in the incident.
Rains started at around 10 PM and continued till the wee hours of Thursday, causing a lot of damage. In Bhavaninagar of the Channanayakanahalli area, flood water entered around 70 houses. As the news reached the police control room, police commissioner Bhaskar Rao rushed to the spot and assured the residents of their help. Hundreds of families were then moved to a safer place.
Other affected areas include Peenya, Yeswanthpur, Jalahalli cross etc. In many places, the flood water damaged cars and other four-wheelers, causing huge losses to the owners.
The rain is expected to continue even on Thursday night.
