Bengaluru: Over 40,000 vehicle owners whose vehicles were seized by the city police from March 2nd week for violating the lockdown norms have a reason to smile.
The city police has decided to return all the seized vehicles from May 1.
However, there is no clarity on whether a fine will be collected from the vehicle owners or not.
City police commissioner Bhaskar Rao informed that he is yet to take a decision on fine collection.
In a tweet, he informed that it’s decided to return the seized vehicles from May 1 onwards. Those seized first will be returned first. The documents will be verified and then the vehicle will be returned. This has approval of Hon CM and HM. We are doing the paperwork to ease the process.
This decision comes amidst report that a few areas in the Bengaluru city may be notified as green zones on May 3 and a few services and activities may be allowed.
