Bengaluru: As many as 65 mutts of the State will receive Rs.119 Crore as the government support. An order in this regard was issued on Saturday April 9. The fund will be utilised for social, cultural, and educational purposes.
The money will be released through the Backward Classes Welfare Department.
According to the documents, the mutts will receive a sum between Rs. 5 Crore and Rs.1 Crore based on their demographic strength.
Meanwhile, BJP MLC A. H. Vishwanath, a Former Minister opposed releasing money to the mutts.
Speaking at an event in Mysuru he said that the amount should be reserved for the welfare of the downtrodden.
