Bengaluru: In a historic move, the Karnataka High Court has directed the Karnataka Examination Board, through an interim order to permit the Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) to appear for the Common Entrance Test this year.

The court heard the petitions submitted by many OCI students questioning the decision of the examination authority, which denied permission from applying for engineering seats. A single-chair judge B V Nagarathna announced the judgment on Thursday.

In its interim order, the court directed to provide an opportunity to write CET for the applicants who are overseas citizens of India (OCI) and also for others. They should be allowed to submit applications personally.
