Mangaluru: P Harishekaran took charge as the new IGP of Western Range on Friday, January 6. He was welcomed by the outgoing IGP Arun Chakravarthy at the IG’s office in Mangaluru.
Chakravarthy had taken charge as IGP (western range) on May 30, 2016. He has been transferred as the IGP (internal security division), Bengaluru.
An IPS officer of 1996 batch, Harishekaran is being transferred from the post of IGP and ACP (East), Bengaluru city. He is a recipient of President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2013.
