Bengaluru police arrested a Pakistani national and his family for allegedly residing in the city illegally for the past six years. The family, consisting of a couple and two others, were detained in a raid in Jigani on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday. The man, originally from Pakistan, married his wife in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and moved to Delhi in 2014 before relocating to Bengaluru in 2018.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the family had secured fake identity documents to live in the city, raising concerns about their activities and possible illegal connections. A senior police officer confirmed that the family had been living in a rented house in Jigani and were using false identities. Their network and business activities, particularly supplying materials to a garage, are currently under investigation.

Home Minister G. Parameshwara expressed the need for a thorough inquiry, questioning how the family managed to evade detection for so long. He pointed out that the family had obtained not only fraudulent identity documents but also an Indian passport. Authorities are now looking into how the family successfully bypassed intelligence agencies and maintained their illegal residency.

The investigation is ongoing, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the interrogation.
