Bengaluru: 23 days long protest by the Panchamasali community, a sub-caste among lingayats withdrawn after an assurance from Chief Minister B.S Yediyurappa that the demands will be taken into consideration in the next six months.
The panchamasali caste seers and leaders are holding a protest seeking to notify the caste in the 2A group. However, other backward caste leaders are opposing this.
Jaya Mruthyunjaya Swamiji, seer of the community announced the withdrawal of the protest. He was offered ground nut sweet by the minister CC Patil who hails from the same community.
