Bengaluru: A day after South End road, Jayanagar under Yediyur ward was renamed as Parvathamma Rajkumar road a new controversy has erupted. According to the sources in BBMP, the road name has been changed without state government’s prior permission.
On Friday, Raghavendra Rajkumar, son of legendary actor late Dr. Rajkumar and Parvathamma Rajkumar had participated in the road renaming ceremony.
According to the sources in the BBMP, as per the rules, a road name could be changed only after following a proper procedure and getting permission from the state government. “But in this case, no procedure has been followed. BBMP has not even invited objections from general public. No proposal has been sent to the state government. Everything has been done in a hurry,” sources informed.
“In the previous BBMP council meeting a resolution was passed in this regard. This proposal has not been finalised. Just for the sake of publicity few have misguided all,” said an officer who wished to be anonymous.
