Bengaluru: Thousands of passengers who had bought a ticket for the Yeshwanthpur-Belagavi special election train, held a flash protest at the Yeshwanthpur railway station as the train was delayed by around three hours.
According to the agitators, as per the original schedule, the train was supposed to arrive at 11 PM on Monday night but arrived at 2.15 AM on Tuesday. Upset by this delay, the passengers staged a stir.
The agitators alleged that the train was delayed by the state government to stop BJP voters from casting their vote. The authorities, however, explained that the delay was caused by various issues including track availability.
The train finally left the station at 2.30 AM on Tuesday.
