Bengaluru: Corruption is among one of the deep-rooted evils in our society today. However, a common feeling among the general public is that big shots facing corruption charges easily escape from the long arms of law while others get caught easily. A best example for this is the suspension of a cop who demanded ‘peanuts’ as a bribe.
Yes that’s right peanuts it is. The suspended cop S P Mandakki, a CAR constable was filmed collecting 500 grammes of peanuts free of cost from the vendors at the ongoing famous Basavanagudi Kadale Kayi Parishe where he was deputed for security on Wednesday.
The video, filmed by persons known to Mandakki was later circulated on social media and soon went viral. The police action was initiated after the viral video came to their notice. B G Timmannavar, DCP, CAR, Bengaluru north issued the suspension order.
