Over 550 cyclists enthusiastically participated in the inaugural edition of ‘Pedaluru’, a not-for-profit event organized by the Council for Active Mobility in Bengaluru. The event aimed to unite cyclists in the city and promote cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation.
City Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) MN Anucheth graced the occasion as the chief guest, emphasizing the importance of active mobility in urban areas. Shilpi Sahu from Qualcomm received the first corporate award for her dedication to environmental sustainability by commuting to work on a bicycle.
The event garnered participation from professionals across various corporates, reflecting a growing interest in cycling as a viable commute option. Participants showed their commitment to promoting cycling and environmental consciousness, with plans already underway for the next edition in 2025.
Organized by GiZ India and the Council for Active Mobility, ‘Pedaluru’ aims to foster a strong cycling community and encourage sustainable urban commuting practices.
