Bengaluru: In three places across the state, the price of petrol has crossed Rs.100 per litre.
The price of a litre of petrol in Sirsi, Uttara Kannada, is Rs.100.22, in Ballari it costs Rs.100.13, whereas in Davanagere it costs Rs.100.17.
In other cities, the prices range from Rs.98 to Rs.99. The public is the one that suffers the most as a result of the price rise.
Former Chief Minister and JD (S) leader H. D. Kumaraswamy has urged the State Government to lower the rates. “The price of petrol will drop by Rs. 3 – 4 per litre if the fuel cess is reduced. This is an option that both the State and Centre must consider,” he explained.
