Bengaluru: With an intention to empower women while breaking gender stereotypes and help them gain their inner confidence to overcome tricky situations, Grand Master Akshar jointly with Dr Sudhakar, head of Matru Trust have organised a mega women’s self-defence workshop at the Bengalure Palace Grounds on February 25 and 26.
The Phogat sisters who will be participating in the event on Saturday through their interactions will look forward to inspire women to kindle a Dangal kind of passion within themselves, if need arises to protect oneself.
The programme will entail a training on kicking, punching, blocking techniques and other self-defence methodologies that can be used to get out of a tricky situation. On the second day, the particiapants will be allowed to choose a partner and practise the defence techniques in a controlled environment.
The organisers have cited the unsafe environment prevailing in the cities with women often vulnerable to attacks from eve-teasers, as the purpose of of the event. The workshop will aid the participants to overcome any untoward situation by helping them develop mental strength and self defence skills.
