Bengaluru: Here is bad news for principals of educational institutions who use foul language and make lewd remarks against students. Sadashiva Nagar police have arrested a principal of a CBSE school on the charge of verbally harassing a female student. Based on a complaint, the police arrested Kumar Thakur under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and remanded him to judicial custody on Tuesday.
Inquiries revealed that Thakur had allegedly used foul language and made lewd remarks at the victim. The girl, a student of one of the schools run by a well-known society under the MHRD, later alerted her parents.
A complaint was raised and the jurisdictional Sadashiv Nagar police took cognizance and arrested him.
The police are now investigating to ascertain more details on the incident and take further action.
They are also questioning the staff and have sought the help of counsellors from child helpline to interact with the students.
