Bengaluru: A real estate agent stabbed a school teacher in Dwarkanagara near Girinagar, however, a swift action of the local Police Inspector saved the teacher’s life .
Police Commissioner T Sunil Kumar, South range DCP Annamalai appreciated the swift work of Inspector CA Siddalingayya.
Police confirmed the identity of the injured teacher as Tanuja, a resident of Hosakerehalli. She is a teacher in Eshwari Primary and High School. She was also teaching Inspector Siddalingayya’s children.
On Thursday evening around 4.30 when Tanuja was returning home from school, a man identified as Shekhar attacked her with a machete on stomach and head. Inspector Siddalingayya saw the teacher lying in pool of blood during his regular rounds of the area.
He immediately sprang into action. Without any delay, he said to have stuffed Tanuja’s intestine inside her stomach, tied the opened stomach with a cloth and rushed her to the nearby hospital, while instructing his staff to catch hold of the accused.
Tanuja was shifted to Victoria Hospital after first aid. Sinddalingayya took the responsibility to call Victoria Hospital and inform them to be ready for an emergency case. He then informed Tanuja’s family.
Doctors said that Tanuja is recovering from the injuries of the attack.
The accused Shekhar, who was nabbed, said in his statement that he was taking his revenge on Tanuja as she had cheated him but did not give any concrete reasons. Tanuja’s family is not aware of any dealings between the two. The police are now waiting for Tanuja’s recovery to solve the case.
