Police mass leave agitation: Shashidhar, two others granted bail

Bengaluru: The High Court of Karnataka granted conditional bail to Shashidhar on Thursday, August 25.
Samiti moves to UN Human Rights Commission seeking justice for Shashidhar-1Shashidhar, President of Police Mahasabha, was detained for allegedly instigating police mass leave agitation on June 2. Charges including sedition were slapped against him.

Shashidhar had called upon the police constabulary to go for mass leave agitation placing several demands on June 4. His house was raided and he was taken into custody as precautionary measures.

Meanwhile, he appealed for bail in the High Court.

After hearing his plea, the single bench headed by Justice Amanda Bhyara Reddy, granted conditional bail to Shashidhar and his two associates. The bench granted bail on certain conditions including Rs 50,000 surety bond and not to cross beyond the court’s jurisdiction until the case is disposed off.

The others, who were granted bail in the case, are Basavaraja and Gurumadiah.
