Bengaluru: The HSR Layout police have arrested two men who had allegedly harassed a 27-year-old woman in HSR Layout Sector 6 on November 17.
The police have identified the accused as Narayanappa, 55, and Manoj, 30, are residents of Begur and sand brokers.
According to the police, the alleged incident occurred on Friday on a service road around 8.30 p.m. while the woman was waiting for a colleague to bring his bike that he had parked in a vacant plot near their office. The woman and her colleague were heading home after a workout in a gym, which is one floor above their workplace.
The police said the service road was not lit properly. The police said on seeing her standing alone, the two men, who were riding on a bike, groped her.
The woman informed her colleague, who chased them on his bike and intercepted them.
A constable arrived at the spot on hearing the commotion. As people started to gather, Manoj fled from the spot. Narayanappa was handed over to the police. Manoj was arrested on Sunday.
The police have registered a case booking both men under the Section 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused have been remanded in judicial custody.
