Bengaluru: Police rescued a 15-year-old boy who was found in distress on the terrace of a building in Bengaluru, following a timely alert from his family.

Brother alerts emergency helpline

According to reports, the boy’s brother noticed that he was in distress and had gone to the terrace. He immediately contacted the Namma-112 emergency helpline seeking assistance.

A police team was dispatched to the location and reached the building within minutes.

Police persuade boy to return safely

Assistant Sub-Inspector Satish Kumar and Head Constable Shabeer Mamadapur reportedly approached the teenager and spoke to him calmly.

The officers managed to persuade him to move away from the terrace and return to safety. He was subsequently provided counselling and reassurance.

The incident highlights the importance of immediately seeking help when a young person shows signs of emotional distress. The quick response from the family and police helped prevent a potentially tragic outcome.

Family support remains important

The incident also underlines the need for parents and family members to remain attentive to changes in children’s behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Young people facing distress or overwhelming emotions should be encouraged to speak with trusted family members, teachers or qualified mental health professionals. Early support can make a crucial difference during difficult moments.
