BENGALURU: In a remarkable act of swift intervention, police successfully rescued a man from a suicide attempt in Yelahanka on Thursday night. The incident unfolded when 27-year-old Gopal, following a family dispute, attempted to jump in front of a train.

The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Rajanukunte Police Station. Gopal, a resident of Addiganahalli, had informed his sister of his intentions, prompting her to alert the police by calling 112. Within just 20 minutes of receiving the alert, ASI Nagesh and Constable Sanjeev Kumar arrived at the scene and quickly tracked Gopal’s location.

Upon noticing the police, Gopal fled along the railway tracks, but officers pursued him and managed to prevent his tragic decision. During the rescue, both officers sustained minor injuries but successfully brought Gopal to safety.

After the incident, the police provided Gopal with counseling at the station before reuniting him with his family. Their prompt and effective response has garnered praise from the community, highlighting the importance of quick action in crisis situations.
