Police uploads CCTV footage of suspected chain snatchers on FB

Bengaluru: The chain snatching incidents continue in the city, while 10 chain snatching incidents were reported on Thursday, three more such incidents were reported on Friday.

The Additional Commissioner of Police (in-charge) B.N.S. Reddy uploaded CCTV footage of the suspects moving on a motorcycle on FB.

“These two chain snatchers roaming in city in Black Pulsar No. 7920. Committing offences if you get any information about them pass it to the nearest police station or Dial 100”, the post read.

Meanwhile, The city police beefed up security and red alert has been imposed across the city following the incidents. Senior police officers who are supervising the patrolling in the city suspected that it could be the handiwork of a different gang.

While two chain snatching incidents were reported in HAL police station limits alone. Two men on bikes robbed Indra (45), a resident of Doddanekundi, at around 10.30 a.m. while she was returning home from a temple. The duo approached her and sped away after snatching a gold chain weighing 100g from her.

An hour later, two men on motorcycle robbed Rajeshwari (60) in Munnekolalu. Rajeshwari was feeding the dogs outside her home when the incident occurred. In another incident, two riders made away with a gold chain from 62-year-old Banumathi in JP Nagar at around 2.30 p.m. Bhanumathi was walking back home along with her grandson when the miscreants snatched her chain.

The city police have stepped up security and patrolling in sensitive areas, while senior police officers are monitoring the situation.
