Bengaluru: ALLOVEDAS is a comprehensive integrated Rehabilitation Centre of repute located in the heart of city. In the light of COVID and post Covid related problems, Allovedas has launched an exclusive programme for “Post-COVID Rehabilitation”. The initiative termed as “BOUNCE BACK” is a unique programme designed to reduce immediate and long term COVID associated complications and related morbidity.

Covid infection affects mainly the lungs and blood vessels and the brain. As a result, those who have recovered have a potential risk for lung complications such as lung fibrosis, decreased vital capacity, decreased cardiopulmonary endurance leading to overall decreased oxygenation to the body. This reduction of vital capacity can affect the functions of all other organs especially the brain. We need to gradually enhance the capacity to avoid long term problems.

“Irrespective of lung situation the brain can get affected directly due to Covid. Increased number of strokes and brain haemorrhages have been noticed in the recent times after recovering from Covid. This needs specialised care to avoid long term neurological problems”, said, Dr. Aadil Wani, HOD Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation, Allovedas.

The blood vessel affliction can increase the risk of stroke as well as the heart attack. The primary cause is inflammation and other immune-related problems. All these need proper evaluation, support therapies which includes Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Lifestyle modification including Yoga, Pranayama, Respiratory therapy, and Nutritional therapy.

The comprehensive programme which is specifically curated for those recovered from COVID by a team of specialists at Allovedas will certainly reduce the individual risks and bring their original capacity as soon as possible. In addition, it is necessary that those recovering from Covid need to prepare themselves for the long term fitness too.
