Just days after pledging ₹1 crore to help tackle Bengaluru’s notorious traffic woes, EaseMyTrip co-founder Prashant Pitti has rolled out a comprehensive action plan aimed at reducing traffic congestion by 25–30% within a year.

Pitti recently held meetings with top officials from the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP), BBMP, and City Police, sharing details on a collaborative strategy. Taking to social media, he confidently announced, “MAJOR UPDATE on Bangalore Traffic Project!

His initiative brings together public and private sector experts, including IISc scientists, Google engineers, road infrastructure specialists, and traffic-tech entrepreneurs. He said simulation tools already developed by BTP and IISc can model alternate traffic routes, and he has sought mobility data from Google, Uber, Ola, and Rapido to improve their precision.

Among quick solutions, Pitti aims to upgrade the government’s complaint app—extending its functionality beyond potholes to illegal parking, signal failures, and waterlogging. All complaints and response actions will be made publicly trackable with timestamps for transparency.

He also proposed a “Hyperlocal Rain Predictor” to prevent roadwork delays and fix drainage proactively. Another pilot, the “Green Wave Signal System”, is testing synchronized signals to allow smooth vehicular flow.

Addressing critics who blame infrastructure, Pitti responded: “Let’s stop ranting and start fixing with data, intent, and collaboration.”

The initiative began after Pitti was stranded for over two hours on Outer Ring Road, moving just 11 km. He now invites citizens to join a WhatsApp group to report specific traffic issues for collective action.
