
Pregnant woman injured and one year old dies on Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway
A devastating head-on collision on the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway late Sunday night resulted in four fatalities, while another victim remains in critical condition. The accident, which occurred near Kuppanahalli Gate under Bangarpet Police limits around 11:30 pm, involved an Innova car and a two-wheeler.
According to KGF Superintendent of Police K.M. Shantharaju, the deceased have been identified as Rathnamma (60), Mahesh (45), a one-and-a-half-year-old girl, and the unidentified two-wheeler rider who perished on the spot.
Among the injured are Sushmitha (30), an eight-month pregnant woman, her son Virat (4), and Sujathamma (50)—all passengers in the Innova. They have been admitted to private hospitals in Bengaluru and Kolar.
Authorities have launched an investigation, and Bangarpet Police have registered a case to determine the cause of the accident.
