Prestige Group is advancing plans to construct a 1.5-km elevated corridor connecting its upcoming tech campus in Bellandur directly to Bengaluru’s Outer Ring Road (ORR). According to Deccan Herald, this flyover will parallel an existing public thoroughfare and run beside a stormwater drain.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has officially cleared the project. In return for authorization to build over public land, Prestige will fully finance the flyover and also expand the narrow Kariyammana Agrahara Road to ease chronic congestion.

Originally proposed in August 2022 and revised in late 2023, the plan cited gridlock on key approach routes like Old Airport Road via Yemalur and Kariyammana Agrahara Road as the main rationale. Once completed, the Prestige Beta Tech Park is expected to host over 5,000 employees.

Approval was reportedly granted this April after consultation with Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar. BBMP has specified that the flyover must remain accessible to the general public, not restricted to the company’s workforce. Prestige is also eligible for Transferable Development Rights (TDRs) in exchange for land surrendered for widening roads, subject to compliance with regulations.

Interestingly, the flyover clearance came nearly a year after the tech park itself was approved by the Bangalore Development Authority in September 2023. Prestige will additionally fund a new 40-foot connector road reducing travel to Sakra Hospital Road by 2.5 km, aligning with broader efforts to promote public-private infrastructure initiatives.
