Bengaluru: With the idea of ensuring total elimination of crimes like impersonation, selling of same site/ apartments to more than one person, litigations etc, the state revenue department has directed authorities to implement digital Urban Property Ownership Records which is popularly called as UPOR in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru and Shivamogga districts at the earliest.
Under the scheme, all the property owners will be given property cards and all the transactions including sale and buying, payment of tax must be done through these cards.
Revenue minister RV Deshpande informed that this scheme will be implemented in 50 wards of the BBMP as a pilot project. “This scheme will be extended to other cities soon. The property documents are digitalised after verifying all the existing records. This will end all the litigations related to the land ownership,” he said.
“In Shivamogga, already property cards have been made mandatory for the tax payment,” he said.
