Bengaluru: The indefinite protest called for by the resident doctors of Victoria and other groups of government hospitals has now taken political color. The strike that entered the sixth day has caused a lot of inconvenience to the poor patients and now, it is believed that a doctor close to former CM Siddaramaiah is behind this stir.
According to the sources in the state health department, the head of the department of the institute allegedly asked the resident doctors to launch an indefinite strike. “He was senior of former CM Siddaramaiah’s son and MLA Yatheendra. With this angle coming out in open, the doctors’ stir has transformed into a BJP v/s Congress fight. Many are looking at it as a Siddaramaiah v/s DK Shivakumar fight too because the target of the doctors is the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike headed by Narayana Gowda, a close associate of DKShi,” said sources in the health department.
Meanwhile, DCM Ashwathnarayan has warned action against resident doctors if they do not withdraw strike immediately.
