Bengaluru: Thousands of flood-affected families from the North Karnataka region are holding a protest in the city, today, which is expected to throw the traffic movement out of gear in the Central Business District (CBD) around the Vidhana Soudha. The traffic police advised the vehicle drivers to avoid the CBD and use alternative roads.
As many as 37 organisations of North Karnataka have brought thousands of flood-affected families to the city in various trains. The protest will start with a march from the city railway station to the Freedom Park, where leaders including former top cop Shankar Bidari will address the agitators.
The protest rally has been organised to pressurise the central government to release the flood relief to the state at the earliest.
