Prove conversions and we will quit politics, DK Suresh challenges Kalladka Bhat

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Rural MP DK Suresh has said that his brother, Congress strongman DK Shivakumar and he will resign from politics if RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat proves that at least one person in Kanakapura has been converted to Christianity.

The DK brothers are at loggerheads with Dr Bhat over the installation of the Jesus Statue in the constituency. The RSS leader had recently led a protest rally ‘Kanakapura Chalo’ to oppose the plans of DKShi to install the statue at Kapaala Betta, citing that the region is of religious significance to the Hindus.

Now, taking a dig at Dr Bhat, Suresh has said that Bhat should not disturb the communal harmony in Kanakapura, which is known for communal harmony. Addressing an event in the town, he denied the allegations of conversion in the area and challenged Bhat that even if he proves single conversion he and his brother DK Shivakumar will retire from the politics.

“Bhat came, barked and returned. When he suffered a cardiac attack, he went to a Christian hospital. Their relatives beg Trump for jobs and work like slaves in the USA. Such people teach religion to us,” he said.

“We don’t want any teachings or preachings from Bhat on Hinduism. We know the religion very well,” he charged.

He also asked Bhat to refrain from making communal statements in Ramanagar and Bengaluru rural districts. “These two districts are known for communal harmony. Bhat is known for dividing society. We don’t want to see his face here,” he said.
