Bengaluru: Three persons were arrested by Nippani Police for allegedly providing fake RT – PCR report for passengers of private bus. The accused were held at Kognoli checkpost on Karnataka-Maharashtra border.
The accused have been identified as Hubballi resident Suresh Madahalli, Jagadish Doddaparasappa from Chitradurga, and Sathish Shinde from Satara in Maharashtra.
The fake report was being given in the name of a Government Medical College and private laboratory. A case has also been registered against six private travel operators in this regard.
The Nippani Police conducted operation at Kolhapur bus stand disguised as passengers travelling to Hubballi. When questioned the driver why exorbitant ticket fare was demanded, he is said to have stated that the cost of the ticket includes providing of RT – PCR test report without undergoing Covid test and bribe to police at Kognoli checkpost.
