Bengaluru: Serial killer and rapist M Jaishankar, nicknamed Pyscho Jaishankar committed suicide by slitting his throat with a shaving blade within the Parappana Agrahara jail on Monday night. A constable on night patrol at the prison premises found Jaishankar in a serious condition. He was immediately taken to the jail hospital for treatment.
However, since his condition was critical he was shifted to the Victoria Hospital, but he is said to have died on the way.
A native of Salem, Jaishankar had raped and murdered over 19 women, including a woman police constable. Imprisoned in Parappana Agrahara jail here, Jaishankar hit the headlines in 2013 once again after he escaped from the high security jail by jumping a 30-ft wall. He however suffered a fracture to his leg during the escape bid. The police, managed to nab him within three days and he was treated for his fracture at the at the Victoria Hospital.
Considering his earlier escapades and his aggressive behaviour towards other inmates, Jaishankar was lodged in a separate cell, with 24/7 CCTV monitoring and extra lights.
