Bengaluru: The state government has decided to pass repeaters of second PUC without examinations, just like the freshers. The board has decided to give grace marks to repeaters and pass them.
Earlier, the state government had passed the freshers without examinations. Repeaters had approached court questioning this stand of PU board. The board formed a committee after the court sought explanation on the matter.
As repeaters do not have any criteria, they are given grace marks in order to promote them to the next grade. Freshers were passed on the basis of their marks obtained in the previous year.
Private students have not been given any relaxation. They have to write the exams which will be held once the intensity of the infection gets reduced. The PU board has decided to give five grace marks in addition to minimum pass marks of 35. The government has submitted the report drafted by the 12-member committee to the high court, and the matter will be taken up on Monday July 5.
