Bengaluru: The Department PUE has already received 27K applications for photocopies this year. This as the deadline to apply for reevaluation comes up tomorrow. Several errors in the valuation process had resulted in anxiety among students, leading to an increase in the number of applications. Astonishingly several students are still clueless about applying for revaluation itself, as there are mistakes in photocopies sent to them and panic has set in. Amid this confusion among the students, the result of reevaluation is to be announced on June 14th!
An instance is the case of Pavithra (name changed), a student from Mandya – she got 39 in Maths, while she was expecting 70 and sought the photocopies of her answer sheet. She received the photocopy of her script, but along with it she received certain pages that did not belong to her. Speaking to an English daily, she said, “When I got the photocopy, I was shocked to see that one of the additional sheets that was sent to me did not belong to me. It was not even a Mathematics paper. Someone else’s script of some other subject was attached as part of my answer sheet”.
The student and her father traveled all the way from Mandya and spent an entire day waiting for officials. “At the end of the day, they told us that it would be sorted out by Monday. However, given the chaos surrounding the issue, we do not know whether it will really be resolved. This has caused us a lot of anxiety,” he said. “I have got good marks in all other subjects. I got my answers verified by my teacher too. In the same paper, for one of the questions, where I have mentioned all the formulae, I have been given only four marks out of five,” she said.
