On Wednesday evening, police at Bengaluru’s Richmond Junction averted a potential tragedy by rescuing a 37-year-old man attempting to jump off a flyover. The incident began when the man threw his phone over the edge, drawing attention from Police Sub-Inspector Harishkumar B M and Head Constable Lokesh D G from Ashoknagar traffic police, who heard a woman’s screams nearby. Head Constable Lokesh, on a Cobra motorbike, rushed to the scene to prevent the man’s jump, while PSI Harishkumar summoned a Hoysala patrol to assist. It was later discovered the man, traveling with his wife and her brother, had been discharged that day from Nimhans, where he was receiving mental health treatment.
