The 17th edition of the World 10K Bengaluru, a prestigious World Athletics Gold Label event, is gearing up for an exciting race day on April 27, 2025. The 10K category is already at full capacity, while other race segments are swiftly filling up. With a massive $210,000 prize pool, the event embraces the spirit of #EndendiguBengaluru (Forever Bengaluru).
Adding to the thrill, Joshua Kiprui Cheptegei, the reigning 5000m and 10,000m world record holder, returns to the city after more than a decade. The legendary long-distance runner, who made his international debut in Bengaluru in 2014, is expected to put on a stellar performance. India’s top runners, Kiran Matre and Sanjivani Jadhav, will be back to defend their titles, facing fierce competition from promising challengers like Sawan Barwal and Lili Das.
In a bid to enhance convenience, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will commence operations as early as 3:30 AM on race day to facilitate smooth transportation.
Former Indian hockey captain Manpreet Singh unveiled the ASICS Finisher Tee, marking the race’s commitment to fitness and community spirit. With over 30,000 runners set to participate, Bengaluru’s most celebrated road race is primed to be an exhilarating spectacle.
