Legendary Indian cricketer and former national team coach Rahul Dravid was seen in a tense exchange with an auto-rickshaw driver on Bengaluru’s bustling streets Tuesday evening. A passerby filmed the incident, capturing Dravid visibly agitated, conversing in Kannada. Reports suggest his vehicle was involved in a minor crash with a goods auto, sparking the confrontation. It remains unclear if Dravid himself was behind the wheel.
The incident reportedly occurred on Cunningham Road as Dravid traveled from Indian Express Junction towards High Grounds. Sources indicate the auto rear-ended his car while it was halted in traffic. Following the dispute, Dravid noted the driver’s contact details before parting ways.
The video, which quickly gained traction online, featured a snippet of their exchange mentioning brakes. According to Times of India Bengaluru, no injuries were reported. Deccan Herald further stated that no police complaint was lodged. The incident took place around 6:30 PM, and Dravid also jotted down the auto’s registration number before leaving.
Dravid, 52, remains one of India’s most celebrated batters, with over 24,000 international runs. His coaching stint ended in July 2024 after guiding India to the T20 World Cup title. He later rejoined Rajasthan Royals as head coach and played a key role in the IPL 2025 mega auction, where RR made waves by signing 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the youngest-ever player purchased in IPL history.
