Bengaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has projected significant rainfall across several districts in Karnataka. Bengaluru city anticipates heavy rains, while Dakshina Kannada, Chikkaballapura, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Hassan, Kodagu, and Kolar might experience heavy to very heavy rainfall. Moderately rainy conditions are expected in districts like Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Chamarajanagar, Davanagere, Mandya, Mysuru, Tumakuru, Shivamogga, and Vijayanagar.
Meanwhile, the IMD has also anticipated thunderstorms and lightning in coastal districts like Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada, with heavy to very heavy rainfall projected in the north interior regions such as Bagalkot, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, and Vijayapura. In the southern interior districts like Ballari, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapura, Chikkamagaluru, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, and Vijayanagar, there’s also an expectation of thunderstorms and lightning.
