Rajnath Singh Celebrates HAL’s Role in India’s Defence Self-Reliance
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the crucial role of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in bolstering India’s armed forces and advancing the nation’s capabilities in defence manufacturing, research, and development. Speaking at the handover ceremony of the First LCA Mk1-A Rear Fuselage in Bengaluru, Singh lauded HAL’s collaboration with private sector companies, calling it a significant milestone in India’s journey towards self-reliance in defence.
Singh highlighted the event as a testament to India’s growing commitment to self-sufficiency in the defence sector and the strengthening of public-private partnerships. “It is the result of hard work and dedication to continuously equip the armed forces with new technologies,” he stated, congratulating HAL and Alpha Tocol Engineering Services Private Limited for their contributions.
HAL, Singh noted, has played a pivotal role in enhancing the strength of India’s armed forces through its integrated model. By working with prominent Indian companies like L&T, Tata Advanced Systems, and VEM Technologies, HAL is opening new avenues for innovation and support within the defence and aerospace sectors.
Drawing a metaphor, Singh likened HAL to the fuselage of an aircraft—the core structure—while private companies are the rear fuselage, providing vital support. He expressed confidence that, with these collaborations, India’s defence sector is poised to achieve great success in the future.
