Bengaluru: BTM Layout MLA and former state minister Ramalinga Reddy withdrew his resignation, which he had submitted to the Speaker recently. He has decided to continue to support the Congress party.
His daughter, Jayanagar MLA Sowmya Reddy will also continue as a Congress MLA.
Reddy announced his decision in a press statement issued in the early hours of Thursday, July 18. He made it clear that he will withdraw his resignation and will support the confidence motion on Thursday on the floor of the state Legislative Assembly.
Reddy’s decision, however, may not help the coalition government as two more Congress MLAs have joined the rebel brigade.
