Bengaluru: Former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has urged the state government to declare Ramanagar as COVID-19 ‘Green Zone’.
It may be recalled that chaos broke out in Ramanagr district, which was in the green zone after Padaryanapura riot accused were brought to Ramanagar jail and two of them were tested positive.
However, after this episode, 68 of the jail staff, police personnel and the health department employees were tested negative, mitigating the fear of an outbreak of the pandemic in the district.
Close on the heels of the reports of 68 persons showing negative for COVID-19, Kumaraswamy, whose wife Anita reprsents the Ramanagar Assembly segment said that the region must be re-shown in the green zone.
He has called upon all stakeholders to work hard to make sure no positive cases are reported from the dsitrict.
