Bengaluru Metro (BMRCL) is set to revolutionize urban commuting by enabling Metro ticket bookings through mobility apps like Rapido and Tummoc, as part of a broader integration with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
Sources told Moneycontrol that Rapido has already begun testing this feature, and plans to offer a 20% discount on usersβ first Metro ticket booked via its app. Other aggregators including Tummoc, which already facilitates BMTC bus pass bookings, are also piloting similar services.
π One App, Full Journey
The initiative aims to unify first-mile, Metro, and last-mile travel β allowing users to book autos, cabs, buses, and Metro tickets through a single platform. Integration with platforms like Google Maps, Namma Yatri, and Redbus is expected in the coming weeks, with an official ONDC partnership launch slated for next month.
A BMRCL official confirmed:
βWe are enabling end-to-end journey booking through the ONDC platform, which is tied up with more than 10 mobility apps.β
