Bengaluru Metro (BMRCL) is set to revolutionize urban commuting by enabling Metro ticket bookings through mobility apps like Rapido and Tummoc, as part of a broader integration with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).

Sources told Moneycontrol that Rapido has already begun testing this feature, and plans to offer a 20% discount on users’ first Metro ticket booked via its app. Other aggregators including Tummoc, which already facilitates BMTC bus pass bookings, are also piloting similar services.

πŸ”„ One App, Full Journey

The initiative aims to unify first-mile, Metro, and last-mile travel β€” allowing users to book autos, cabs, buses, and Metro tickets through a single platform. Integration with platforms like Google Maps, Namma Yatri, and Redbus is expected in the coming weeks, with an official ONDC partnership launch slated for next month.

A BMRCL official confirmed:

β€œWe are enabling end-to-end journey booking through the ONDC platform, which is tied up with more than 10 mobility apps.”
