Bengaluru: Now traveling between Baiyappanahalli and Electronic City in just 35 minutes during peak hours has become a reality! The suburban railway service, which started last Monday has provided such an opportunity to the people of Bengaluru.

In fact, passengers can commute till Heelalige through the railway facility and later complete the journey using cabs. This way they can avoid the heavy traffic of Outer Ring Road, Silk Board Junction, and Hosur road junction.

A reality check has shown that commuters can save time due to this service. The train leaves Baiyappanahalli railway station (beside Metro railway station) exactly at 10.20 am. The IT employees who work in Kadubeesanahalli got down at Bellandur road station. They can reach their offices within 10 minutes. Many passengers were ready to get down at Carmel ram station. “Travel via Baiyappanahalli road used to take at least one and half hours,” said one of the passengers.

From there, the DEMU train took only 10 minutes to reach Heelalige station. The journey finished in just 22 minutes. This station is just 2 km away from Chandapur circle. From there one has to travel 7.5 km to reach Electronic City. With a pre-booked taxi, through Hosur road one may reach Electronic City by 10.55 am.

The total expense of the journey is Rs 35, including Rs.10 for the train and Rs. 25 for the cab (sharing basis). The monthly pass can save more money, says the railway staff.
