Bengaluru: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sleuths probing the financial frauds in the State over the last decade have come across that many people, who have lost money, are yet to approach the police and help in investigations.

“Around 6,500 depositors who were duped by Dreamz Infra India, only 2,382 investors have appeared and submitted documents,’’ said Director General Police (CID) Kishore Chandra.

The DGP said 2,750 depositors of the 5,315 from TGS Construction Ltd. and 814 of the investors cheated by Gruha Kalyan, a real estate company have submitted the documents and given their statements. “The rest of the investors are yet to approach,” he said.

According to CID officials, people are falling victim to such fraudulent companies since they advertise big in media and the internet, showing celebrities offering handsome returns to the deposits.

The CID is striving to recover the money and return it to the investors. It has recommended to the government to auction confiscated properties so that the money could be returned to the victims. The officials have requested the investors to come forward and file a complaint as many investors are yet to approach the agencies.
