Bengaluru: The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday stayed the decision of the Mysuru lokayukta court, which had directed the Lokayukta police to array Sunil Bose, son of Public Works Department Minister H.C. Mahadevappa, as one of the accused in a 2010 case related to alleged bribery.

Justice Rathnakala passed the interim order on a petition filed by Bose, who had questioned the September 13, 2017, order of the Mysuru court, which ordered to make him an accused by holding that there was material to proceed against him.

After recording evidence, the special court for Lokayukta cases in Mysuru had passed an order treating the duo as accused and summoning them to appear before the court on September 26.

Alphonso, an official of the Mines and Geology Department, was caught red-handed while allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from one Basavaraju.

A case against Bose was registered as the accused officer had said he had received money on behalf of the former.

However, the Lokayukta police had filed a charge-sheet only against Alphonso.
