The actor has received a notice from the police to appear for an inquiry in connection with the case today, the news channel reported.

Sources close to the ongoing investigation have revealed that Chikkanna was allegedly present at a party linked to the incident under scrutiny. Non-compliance with the notice could lead to further legal measures, including potential police intervention to ensure his cooperation.

Darshan and his group were partying at Stonybrook Pub from noon on Saturday. Chikkanna was also among the partygoers. Sources report that Darshan departed early in the evening for some work, but his subsequent arrest has left Chikkanna feeling anxious.

There is mounting concern that the Kamakshipalya police might reach out to Chikkanna at any moment. The police are contemplating issuing a notice to the well-known comedian, believing he could possess crucial information regarding the events at Stonybrook Pub that might throw more light on the murder case.

Senior officers have been consulted about the appropriateness of issuing such a notice. After thorough deliberation, the police are prepared to consider Chikkanna as a witness, deeming his presence at the party significant, even if he was unaware of the murder itself.

Following extensive discussions with senior officers, the decision has been made to issue a notice to comedian Chikkanna. This notice will extend to all individuals who were present at the party with Darshan, said sources.
