Bengaluru: Excise minister H Nagesh has informed that the state government will take a decision on opening of the MSIL operated liquor shops, on Tuesday, after Prime Minister’s address to nation.
He also made it clear that non MSIL liquor shops will not be allowed to open anytime soon.
CM BS Yediyurappa also informed that a final decision on the opening of the MSIL outlets will be taken as per the directions of the central government.
“Excise is one of the major source of revenue. So, we are open to the idea of opening the MSIL outlets,” he said.
It can be recalled that all the liquor shops have been shut since March last week as part of the lock down imposed to contain the Covid 19.
Meanwhile, people who have been eagerly waiting for the liquor shops to open were elated to see that te MSIL outlets in many places have already started erecting barricades outside the outlets, hinting that the store is all set to open soon.
